Christiane Lehmann is an Australian-based visual artist who has been practising collage, photography, fabric prints and interior design for more than 30 years.
Originally from Hamburg, Christiane’s work has been featured in solo exhibitions and group shows in Australia, Hong Kong, Singapore, Thailand, Japan and Malaysia, including the National Gallery of Victoria and the Museum of Sydney.
During her 21-year collaboration as muse for award-winning Japanese-Australian fashion designer Akira Isogawa, Christiane’s exquisitely detailed designs have been transformed into fabrics and life-size three-dimensional creations. Together they built an impressive series of collections showcased in Paris and purchased by leading boutiques and department stores worldwide.
Christiane’s collages are highly-sought after and she is represented in private collections in Australia, China, the United Kingdom and the United States. She is available for private commissions.
“There’s a fine line with collage. You need raw imperfection with art. Without, it there’s no tension,” Christiane says.
